DiveVolk SeaTouch 4 Max

Your iPhone already takes great photos. Put it in a DiveVolk housing and it shoots the whale too. No SD cards, no laptop, no app to pair. Your clip is on your phone before you are back on the boat.

We bring DiveVolk housings on every Maui expedition and run a hands-on workshop. Put your own iPhone in, swim with it, then decide.

Why we recommend it

The best camera on the boat is usually the one already in your pocket.

Action cameras need cards, apps and spare batteries. Pro rigs need their own suitcase. Your phone needs one housing, and nothing changes about how you shoot.

Most of our encounters happen right at the surface: a humpback calf coming up to breathe, a line of mantas feeding in the shallows. That is exactly where a phone in a good housing shines.

Questions

Before you order

Will it fit my iPhone?

DiveVolk makes trays for most recent iPhone models. Check your exact model on their site before you order.

Can I try it before I buy one?

Yes. Every Maui expedition has a DiveVolk workshop where you can use the housing in the water with a leader next to you.

What if it leaks?

There is no vacuum check, so do a sink test before every trip: close it empty and hold it under water for two minutes. No drops, no problem. It is rated to 60 m, far deeper than we ever go.

Does the touchscreen really work underwater?

Yes. Tap, swipe and zoom like on land, with a slightly firmer press. It needs bare fingers, so in cold water use a thin finger cot instead of gloves.

Do I need it if I only snorkel?

Yes. Most of our encounters happen right at the surface, which is exactly where a phone shines.

How do I look after it?

Rinse it in fresh water after every swim, dry it open and keep it out of the sun. Charge your phone every night, because it is also your camera battery.
