About this expedition
Seven days of pure Fiji: we fly into Nadi, board the Yasawa Flyer catamaran and sail deep into the Yasawa Islands β a chain of remote tropical islands with white beaches, turquoise lagoons and villages where time moves differently. Six nights, three islands, two nights each, working our way back down the chain.
This is the paradise expedition: swim in the Blue Lagoon, drift through the Sawa-i-Lau caves, snorkel with manta rays in the channel, share kava with a local village β and finish with one of the best shark dives on the planet: face to face with bull sharks off Kuata. It pairs perfectly with Whales of Tonga, which ends the day before this expedition begins.
Itinerary
Disclaimer: this itinerary is tentative β nature leads, we follow.
Day 1: Nadi β the far Yasawas
Land in Nadi, board the Yasawa Flyer at Port Denarau and cruise the full length of the island chain to our first base in the northern Yasawas. Feet in the sand by sunset.
Day 2β3: Blue Lagoon & Sawa-i-Lau caves
Two days in the postcard north: swim the famous Blue Lagoon, snorkel coral gardens, and drift through the limestone chambers of the Sawa-i-Lau caves. Village visit and a welcome kava ceremony with our hosts.
Day 3β4: Manta channel
We hop south to the middle of the chain, where manta rays feed in the channel between the islands β August is peak season. Mornings in the water with mantas, afternoons of reef snorkeling and hammock time.
Day 5β6: Kuata β the bull shark dive
Our final island is Kuata, home to one of the world's great shark dives: bull sharks, up close, guided by Fiji's most experienced shark team. Certified divers do the full dive; everyone else can join an intro dive or watch the briefing and surface action. Farewell lovo dinner on the beach.
Day 7: Back to Nadi
One last swim, then the Yasawa Flyer brings us back to Port Denarau by afternoon β perfectly timed for evening flights out of Nadi.
π‘ This expedition can be combined with our Tonga expedition, Whales of Tonga πΉπ΄ β Tonga ends Aug 29th and Fiji starts Aug 30th, so you can do both back-to-back on one long-haul flight.

Things to know
Do I need a diving license for the bull shark dive?
Certified divers join the full bull shark dive. If you're not certified, you can do an introductory dive with an instructor or experience the sharks from the surface β and every other activity on this trip is snorkeling, no license needed.
How do we get between the islands?
By the Yasawa Flyer, the iconic yellow catamaran that runs the island chain daily. We ride it deep into the north on day one and hop our way back south β no tiny planes, no repacking stress, just island time.
Can I combine this with Whales of Tonga?
Yes β that's the idea. Whales of Tonga ends on August 29th and this expedition starts August 30th. Fly Tonga β Nadi and roll straight from humpbacks into paradise. Ask us and we'll plan the connection for you.
